During November, I always like to keep the students in my class as well as my own children thinking about being thankful. Children, as well as adults, forget to be thankful for the blessings in our lives.
This Thanksgiving poem is a great activity to get the children in your life to think deeply about what they are thankful for. Just print out one copy for each child in your class or at home and have them fill it out. They are to put a word or a phrase that starts with the given letter (T = turkey, k = keeping my family safe, etc.) After it has been filled out it can be cut out and glued onto construction paper and then decorated. This is something that could be done as an activity in class or sent home after a lesson on being thankful.
