Thankful Acrostic Poem for Kids Printable
I want to talk with my students about things that we should be thankful for. I want to guide their thinking, as always, to the Bible, and what we can be thankful for according to the Bible. I put together this acrostic poem of the word, “THANKFUL”, with words that match each letter and a Bible verse to correspond with each of those words.

After you have read through the Bible verses and discussed meaningful things to be thankful for, you can now have your students make their own acrostic with this blank form.

Truth – And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32
Heaven – But, as it is written, โ€œWhat no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love himโ€ 1 Corinthians 2:9
Armor of God – Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
Neighbors – Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. Romans 15:2
Kindness – Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
Forgiveness – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:19
Ultimate Sacrifice – For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. 1 Peter 3:18
Love – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

  1. While I love the Thankful poem, we have been working on that all month of November. I’m wondering do you have a similar poem for Christmas. For December we are teaching the importance of the name Jesus. My activities are for the kids to make an acrostic poem out of their own names, but one with Christmas would be a nice visual aide.
    Thanks

  2. I just want to say, thank you for such simple lessons and color sheets for our children’s church. We are a very small church, but we can have anywhere from 1 child to 12 (toddlers included) in church. Most of our children come from the neighborhood, so it varies. We only have three teachers so we need simples lesson, because we don’t have much time to prepare. God has blessed us so much, because the children are so hungry for the Lord and His word. We have such a small budget, so these wonderful lessons help us so much. Thank you and God Bless your ministry. Barb Murphy
