I’ve just finished editing our new Summer Games 3-lesson curriculum series inspired by the Olympic Games. Wow – this one will be a lot of fun for churches, especially at the end of July when attendance is a struggle in Sunday School. Here are the details for anyone interested.
Why Choose “Summer Games” for Your Summer Series?
As the world gets ready for the Olympic Games, you can add some excitement to your children’s ministry with the “Summer Games” curriculum. This program runs for three weeks and is not just about sports – it’s about teaching kids the important Christian values of never giving up, working hard, and living for God. With fun and engaging sports-themed activities, your kids will have a blast while learning valuable life lessons.
The 2024 Paris Olympics, also known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The opening ceremony will be held on July 26, 2024, and will be live on NBC and Peacock. The men’s tournament will begin on July 24, 2024, with the final on August 9, and the women’s tournament will begin on July 25, 2024, with the final on August 10, 2024
What Makes “Summer Games” Ideal for VBS and Sunday School?
- Olympic-Themed Lessons: Each session is designed around training, competing, and winning, paralleling the Christian life with the life of an athlete who strives for excellence.
- Engaging Activities: Expect a variety of games, crafts, and Bible stories that are not only fun but also educational, keeping children engaged while they learn important biblical truths.
- Easy to Implement: Whether you have a small group or a large gathering, the “Summer Games” curriculum is flexible and easy to adapt to any size and setting.
- Gospel Connection: Even though we are called to obey and love God, it was ultimately Jesus’ effort on the cross, not our spiritual accomplishments, that secured our salvation.
- Translation: This study is written to work with any Bible translations, it’s bring your own Bible.
How “Summer Games” Can Boost Your Ministry
This curriculum is more than just some boring lessons. It’s a cool tool that helps kids understand how faith is important in their everyday life. By comparing it to how athletes work hard, we can show kids how being spiritual is a lot like being an athlete. It makes faith easier to understand and cooler for young people.
