The series emphasizes that as they begin the new school year, Jesus’ love will be with them through every challenge, every positive experience, and every friendship they form.
Weekly Breakdown
The curriculum is broken down into four weeks, each with a unique theme and scripture reference:
- Week 1: “Packed with Purpose: Gearing Up for the Journey Ahead” – This lesson equates packing a backpack with essential supplies to equipping our hearts and minds with spiritual ‘supplies’ such as kindness, honesty, and patience. (Colossians 3:12-14)
- Week 2: “Unseen Blessings: Discovering God’s Support in Our Daily Lives” – This lesson teaches children to see God’s hand in their lives by acknowledging and appreciating His blessings. (Numbers 6:24-26)
- Week 3: “Navigating New Beginnings: Embracing Change with Courage” – This lesson helps children face the changes and challenges of a new school year with courage and trust in God. (Joshua 1:9)
- Week 4: “Classroom Companions: Building Friendships and Spreading God’s Love” – This lesson emphasizes the importance of building friendships and showing God’s love by treating everyone with kindness and respect. (1 John 4:11-12)

In addition to the weekly lessons, the curriculum includes attention-keeping learning activities, an easy-to-teach lesson plan, discussion questions, prayer, memory verse activity, printable word search worksheets, Bible story coloring pages, and craft activities.
