I just read about a new book for children by Dr. Bruce Ware. I’m always glad to see world-class theologians tackle the important task of relating truth for young children.
The book is titled Big Truths For Young Hearts. It aims to equip parents to guide their young children through all major doctrines in an understandable, chapter-a-day format. More from the publisher:
The book covers ten topics of systematic theology, devoting several brief chapters to each subject, making it possible for parents to read one chapter per day with their children. With this non-intimidating format, parents will be emboldened to be their children’s primary faith trainers and perhaps learn a few things themselves along the way.
I don’t have the book yet, but hope to get it soon. I found it recommended by another world class scholar Dr. Russell Moore. On his blog he quoted the book’s foreword written by the author’s adult daughters. They write:
Dad really believes the things that are in this book . . . To parents: it may sound cliche, but we followed our father’s teaching in part because he practiced what he preached.
That is a powerful statement, especially for a young father like me. Here’s the link to Dr. Moore’s strong recommendation.
